Lovells is pleased to announce the launch and publication of its first ever guide to the funding, payment and recoverability of litigation costs in over 50 major business jurisdictions across the globe.

In 2008 we carried out a survey entitled "The Shrinking World" which highlighted an apparent shortage of information about the relevant law and procedures across the business jurisdictions of the globe in relation to the management of litigation costs.

As a reaction to that we have undertaken, with contributions from external law firms and local Lovells offices, a litigation costs comparison exercise across 56 international jurisdictions. We sought to identify answers to all the main questions that clients would wish to address before embarking on the bringing or defence of litigation in various jurisdictions. The result of our investigations provides:
• answers to all those questions and issues in an easy to read comparison, supplemented with a more detailed explanation of the position in each jurisdiction; and
• a valuable business tool for clients, which can be used at an early stage in the litigation process.
