IRLA is the UK market body for insurance and reinsurance legacy management professionals. IRLA is recognised as the voice of the legacy management sector by a wide range of government and market bodies including the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Department of Work and Pensions.
IRLA activities range from industry consultation with government to promotion of the sector’s skills and expertise. In particular, the IRLA Academy provides top quality, competitively priced, training that is fully accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute, one of the world’s premier professional training organisations for the general insurance industry. More recently, IRLA has also established its own, annual awards designed to promote and recognise excellence in legacy management.
With some 200 members spanning reinsurers and insurers with discontinued business (both solvent and insolvent), service providers and associated professionals such as accountants and lawyers, over the past decade ARC’s membership has also grown and broadened to include companies from Continental Europe and the US, so highlighting the development of the legacy management sector globally.

Being part of the market body which promotes and represents the interests of legacy professionals to other reinsurance sector bodies such as the ABI and CII. As well as representing members’ concerns and views to government and regulators, lobbying for change as needed.

The must event for everyone who is anyone in the market. It provides an ideal opportunity to entertain clients as well as reward own staff. The highlight of the evening being the ARC awards for industry achievement in several areas. The dinner regularly welcomes 300 of the key players in the market.
