Recent winner of the ARC Services to Legacy Award John Winter, with his Ruxley Ventures Company, sponsored a very successful “Help for Heroes” 5km run in Hyde Park on 9th November 2011. The event raised in excess of £11,000 for this worthy charity. The run was well-supported by other colleagues from the insurance market including a team from Compre Group whose involvement was spawned from John Winter’s announcement of his sponsorship at the Monte Carlo Rendezvous.

The team from Compre was made up of Rhydian Williams (ARC Director and Operations Director at Compre), Nick Steer (CEO), Charles Singh (Group Finance Director), Mark Lewis (Broker Services) and Martin Heath (Claims Technician). But the real hero of the team was Sharon Sharkey (Debt Recovery) as she put her skills to good use and raised a massive £1,200 in sponsorship. Non-executive Compre board members, Milestone Capital, were represented by partner Philip Conboy and Colin Granger. Will Bridger, the Acquisitions Director who promoted the idea within Compre was unable to run on the day having acquired an injury, the sort of “acquisition” which was not planned. One wag suggested he had sprained his wallet!

Other run-off legends (or should that be “leg ends”) were also active including Philip Grant, former Chairman of ARC and current Chairman of Ambant.
