The concept of the Academy transformed into being in the summer of 2005 with the dual purpose of providing cost effective, and relevant interactive training courses for the members of the Association.

It was based on the results of the [2004] members' survey which had strong indications, regarding the corporate move from a live operation to legacy management, that they tended to defer staff training and career opportunities were put onto the back seat.

So the association looked to lift any financial constraints for the management by charging a low cost and giving ease of access with minimum travel by basing the training in the City.

Academy speakers are all volunteers and come from a wide range of professional service providers, many of whom, due to their diary and/or postion, would not be within the normal contact areas for delegates. The Academy allows delegates open discussion and information that otherwise would not be freely available.

We are, as ever, grateful to all of those who particpate in the academy for their time and support in this ongoing, and growing, education programme.

IRLA, through use of a CII CPD Accreditation licence, are permitted to 'self-certify' their events against the CII CPD Accreditation standards.
CII CPD accreditation is only used for events which are insurance/financial services related and a sufficiently high standard to contribute to CII members' CPD.  [Updated April 2012]
