ARC's highly popular one day course has been upgraded to include developments from 2008/9, as well as to consider what problems are up and coming, it is also bringing greater focus to key areas such as insolvency and arbitration.

Key themes include:

  • New for 2009- "Mock Arbitration" led by Clive O'Connell, Partner of Barlow, Lyde & Gilbert gathers together all delegates to consider an APH conflict and determine how to resolve it to win the arbitration
  • Today's wording, tomorrows legacy - Peter Ambler, Head of Tower Perrins Clayton considers how wordings have changed but claims continue to extend the life of each policy
  • Current claims issues - in a series of presentations from Helen Hatcheck of RSA and John O'Neill, Cavell (R&Q) the coal face is explored with the claims practioners view of dealing with new issues from old claims on a daily basis
  • There are asset's but are they mine? ...a presentation and discussion period looking at time bar, proof of loss and commutations
