ARC MEMBERS VOTE IN FAVOUR OF NAME CHANGE TO “INSURANCE AND REINSURANCE LEGACY ASSOCIATION LTD” (IRLA)
Members of the Association of Run-Off Companies (ARC) have voted in favour of an immediate name change to Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy Association Ltd (IRLA).
Paul Corver, Chairman of the Association, said, “ARC Members were invited to attend the EGM in early March and voted their approval of the Association’s name change. It was very clear from the Board’s consultations with the legacy community, both from live and discontinued operations, that they felt the name IRLA better reflected the activities, aspirations and interests of the entire legacy sector, both in the UK and across continental Europe.
This association is now attracting membership from all legacy practitioners and not just those from run-off companies. The level of expertise that resides in live companies has been increasing over the last few years, with many creating
specific run-off units. By changing our name to IRLA we also give them an association for continued education, market updates and networking opportunities.
We’re extending this fresh outlook to the 2012 Congress, which is going to be based in Brighton for the first time and which will have a two day format.”
